Christmas is for Giving

The CAL proceeds from the Affordable Art and  the December Show totaled $392.00 which will be donated to The Salvation Army.

The handmade Christmas ornaments (with the entire proceeds going to support our annual Student Awards Show for High School Seniors in Montgomery County) totaled $470.  Thank you members!

12 X 12 AUCTION

The Select 12 have now been chosen for the auction by artist and educator Cynthia Reid https://cynreid.com

Cynthia wanted all of the participating artists to know it was very difficult picking out only 12 pieces as the artwork was extremely good! The Select 12 are now on display in the Gallery through February 26th. The minimum bid on these pieces is $100. They are not available for a "buy it now price”.

The remaining artwork will be displayed the month of February. Minimum bid is $35 and is available for a buy now price of $200.

The 12x12 Auction is now online at the 32auction site. This year we will not be having a live auction and reception. The online auction will continue until Friday February 26th at 11:45.

Please keep checking Facebook and the CAL website for more info and be sure to “share” with all your art loving friends.  We want this to be the best 12x12 Auction year ever.

A reminder that the proceeds go to our Student Awards Show for High School Seniors to pursue further studies beyond high school."

THE CAL NATIONAL

The Judges are making their final selections and announcements will be made via email on January 22nd.

There were 615 entries from 34 states across the nation. This year the CAL National is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts as a part of its Artistic Enrichment in American Communities (AEAC) program.

The Conroe Art League is one of 17 members of the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance.  The GCAA was invited to speak before the Bentwater Ladies Organization monthly luncheon and Debra Riley attended as a representative of CAL.  The GCAA had several representatives speak before the group.  Debra’s presentation to the group of 100 ladies included the history of CAL and it’s current programs and benefits of membership.  The upcoming 12x12 Auction and the CAL National were highlighted in her speech.
