GALLERY HOURS

Remember: the new hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.

New docent shift times are 11:00 - 1:30 and 1:30 - 4:00.

ART AROUND THE WORLD CAMP

Children’s Art Camp, Art Around The World, was in session this week. Each day students learned about a different country and created an artwork inspired by that country's culture and history.  Thank you Rebekah Billings for creating and conducting this awesome art camp.

IN MEMORIUM

Kathleen's family suggests that donations be made to Conroe Art League as an expression of sympathy. An acknowledgment will be sent to the family. You can make a memorial donation here.

The vote are in... and the June's People's Choice Award goes to Ed Gorman for his photograph titled "Sheri’s Orchid".

MONTHLY GENERAL MEETING

The next general meeting and reception will be held on August 7th. The general meeting will be at 4:00 pm followed by an art demo by Cynthia Reid.  She will be talking about paper weaving. 

We do not expect to hold general meetings by zoom at this time.

ARTIST RECEPTION

The August reception will be held on Saturday, the 7th,

from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, after the general meeting.

Student Raffle

Be sure to get your tickets for the July raffle item. It is Charles Wallis' 11 X 14 acrylic painting (on canvas) titled " The Sky Was The Color Of Love"

Support Montgomery County high school seniors and the student art awards by making a donation to be included in the drawing.

    AUGUST TAKE-IN/OUT

    August take-in/take-out: Tuesday, August 3rd from 10:30 to 4:00.

     Please register on line and sign up for your docent shift prior to dropping off your artwork (here)

    NO JUNK IN THIS TRUNK (SHOW)

    Mark your calendar for the Wearable Art and Home Décor “Trunk Show” that is scheduled for the month of August.

    It will be a perfect time to do some early holiday shopping or just spoil yourself and your loved ones.

    CREATE HOPE

    The University of St. Thomas has opened an art competition themed "Hope" for CAL members. The university will select three pieces to hang in their new micro campus located in downtown Conroe. Click here for more details.

     
     

    Our artist members have been very busy and we would be remiss if we did not spotlight their accomplishments.  

    Brett Hall juried into Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council 33rd Juried Exhibition and the Lubbock Arts Alliance Juried Gallery.

    Brenda McDougall juried into the Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition, the Richardson Civic Art Society 55th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition, and had a solo show at the Craft, Cork & Keg Fine Art Show.

    Debra Riley juried into the 2021 NOAPS Associate On-Line Exhibition.

    Kristine Schneider juried into Rockport Art Festival and the Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair.

    George Bramlett juried into the Archway Thirteenth Annual Juried Exhibition. It will be on display until the 4th of August.

    CHEERS TO A NEW VOLUNTEER

    Donna Rodgers was appointed to the board as the Docent Coordinator.  Donna has been a CAL member since 2019, and you have likely seen her sculpture on display during the monthly member's show.  Donna is an office manager for a roofing company, and she offers a number of administrative and computer skills as Docent Coordinator.  Please welcome Donna as the docent Coordinator.
