Visit the website regularly to see new interviews as they are posted.

Who deserves your stamp of approval?

Be sure to visit the gallery during August and vote on your favorite for the People’s Choice Award.

Juan Cantevella is both the Peoples' Choice and the banner winner for August with his oil on canvas piece "Unexpected".

The banner will display in the courtyard September, October, and November.

MONTHLY GENERAL MEETING

The next general meeting and reception will be held on Saturday, September 11th. It will be at 4:00 pm followed by informative framing tips from Kari Schmidt of Cornerstone Framing.

Kari will talk about the importance of framing your artwork, in the best manner possible.  How it helps making sales, and in the end makes you a more confident artist! Kari will also be offering a gift certificate to her business at the end of the discussion.

We do not expect to hold general meetings by zoom at this time.

ARTIST RECEPTION

The September reception will be held on Saturday, the 11th,

from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, after the general meeting.

Student Raffle Winner

At the general meeting this past Saturday, Norma Godfrey won the Student Award raffle. You too have the opportunity to have a special item, like the acrylic painting "The Sky Was The Color Of Love" donated by Charles Wallis - it just takes a little donation.

There will be no August raffle item, so save your pennies for the September one.

Support Montgomery County high school seniors and the student art awards by making a donation to be included in the drawing.

SEPTEMBER TAKE-IN/OUT

Next take-in/take-out: Tuesday, September 7 from 10:30 to 4:00.

Please register on line and sign up for your docent shift prior to dropping off your artwork (here)

IN THE FLESH

Juan Cantavella's model and muse Alex, of "Lotus" stopped by the gallery last week. The resemblance is uncanny! Come by the gallery and see several of his works along with those of our other CAL members.

CREATE HOPE

The University of St. Thomas has opened an art competition themed "Hope" for CAL members - which is ending soon. The university will select three pieces to hang in their new micro campus located in downtown Conroe. Click here for details.

Ken Roy's painting titled "How Do Your Flowers Grow" was selected for the cover of The Cuddy Family Foundation for Veterans (TCFFFV) Poetry Journal  Volume Two.

We'd love to spotlight you or your CAL friends! Please share any accomplishments at gallerymanager@conroeartleague.com for inclusion in upcoming newsletters.
