This class is a unique experience that blends art-making with immersion in nature.  Rather than focusing solely on technique, it emphasizes mindful connection with the environment and exploration across various art mediums.  Participants will engage their senses, embrace imperfection, and use diverse materials to express themselves freely.  This process fosters healing, personal reflection, and a sense of community, nurturing the creative spirit from within.  Unlike traditional technique-based courses, this class serves as a space to replenish the inner well from which creativity flows--an ideal retreat for overcoming creative blocks or simply renewing one's energy.  It's a space where curiosity leads the way, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced artists looking to reconnect with their creativity.

This class will be offered 3 times on 4 consecutive Thursdays.

    INKTOBER GROUP

    UNLOCK YOUR INNER CREATIVE

    Class Description

Inktober was created in 2009 by Jake Parker, illustrator/animator, as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. Now, every October, artists all over the world take on this challenge and do one ink drawing every day of the month.  If a drawing every day is too much, you can opt for one every other day.  Your drawings can be traditional black and white or can include color...and you can combine ink with other mediums.  Anything goes...let's have fun and draw!

    Course Content

    • Introduction of participants and Inktober guidelines
    • Experimentation with tools, inking techniques, and styles
    • Discussion of formats and ideas
    • Preview of prompts and discussion regarding using them or not
    • A look at Inktober entries from the past
    • Preliminary sketching in pencil
