Creative Canopy classes for 2025 are now complete and will resume the first quarter of 2026. The date listed here is tentative; specific dates will be published when the schedule is determined.
This class is a unique experience that blends art-making with immersion in nature. Rather than focusing solely on technique, it emphasizes mindful connection with the environment and exploration across various art mediums. Participants will engage their senses, embrace imperfection, and use diverse materials to express themselves freely. This process fosters healing, personal reflection, and a sense of community, nurturing the creative spirit from within. Unlike traditional technique-based courses, this class serves as a space to replenish the inner well from which creativity flows--an ideal retreat for overcoming creative blocks or simply renewing one's energy. It's a space where curiosity leads the way, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced artists looking to reconnect with their creativity.

Nature Journaling:
Blending art and science to see the world with wonder
Slow down, look closely, and let your sketchbook become a window into the hidden wonders of nature. In this class, we'll use drawing, color, and writing to capture the beauty of plants, wildlife, and the landscapes around us. Each page is both artwork and a scientific record, helping us notice patterns, behaviors, and details we might otherwise miss.
We'll start in the studio with simple techniques, then step outside when we can to observe the living world firsthand. Along the way, you'll deepen your knowledge of local flora and fauna while cultivating a sense of curiosity and connection with the natural world.
All levels welcome--bring your sketchbook and your sense of wonder!
Day and time: Tuesdays 4:30 - 6:00 pm
