| Make a donation to CAL and win this beautiful framed original oil painting by Elif Burduroglu. "I am a self taught artist who has been painting full time since 2008. Although my subject matter varies, my main aim is to create beautiful paintings that evoke an emotional response in the viewer so that they can make a connection with my work. In this floral painting, I used a lot of palette knife and applied the paint thickly, not trying to make a very realistic painting but rather trying to create a loosely painted semi abstract still life with rich colors and textures." For each $10 donation one ticket will be entered into the raffle. The winning ticket will be drawn on May 10th at the Artist Reception. You do not have to be present to win. | The first Friday of every month the gallery is open until 7:00pm to host Artist In Action Sip N Shop. Visit the gallery to see artists at work. Every month brings different artists with different mediums so you may see painting, sculpting, drawing, ceramics, photography, or any number of other mediums. This is a free event open to the public. |

Conroe Art League awarded more than $13,000 at the Student Awards Show on Saturday, May 10th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 PM. As many as eighteen monetary awards were awarded in the show category. In addition to the open show, there was a $500 award for the Adrianne Gerlach Memorial Art Scholarship for Best Western/Wildlife and an award in the amount of $300 for the Sherry Wagner Memorial Award for the theme Forever Cats. |
