Show schedule

Conroe Art League features a robust lineup of shows with a new show being hung every month at the CAL gallery along with special shows throughout the year.

Below is a summary of the shows:

Monthly Open Member Show:

A new show is on display every month with the Take-In of the new art and Take-Out of the previous month’s art typically occurring on the first Tuesday of the month. Check the Calendar to confirm. The Artist reception for each show is typically held the Saturday after Take-In. Check the Calendar to confirm.

MONTHLY JUAN CANTAVELLA AWARD AND QUARTERLY Banner Contest:

Every month of the year, except for March (International Show), adult members have the opportunity to win the Juan Cantavella Award of Excellence and a $400 cash prize.  In addition there will be ribbons awarded to the second and third pace winners and all three winners can display their winning art in the gallery the following month.  Every person visiting the gallery has the opportunity to vote.

Each quarter a judge will select a winner from the three Juan Cantavella Award winners and that piece will receive the banner award.  The banner is hung in the gallery courtyard for approximately 3 months and is then donated to the City of Conroe to be placed in the downtown Conroe area as public art.

Each month on the last Thursday of the month the gallery is open late for the downtown Conroe event "Sip and Shop".  As an Artist In Action you will be working on a current project in the gallery for the general public to view.  Any art that you can work on in the gallery is eligible (sculpting, card and jewelry making, painting, etc). This monthly event is limited to 4 artists each month.  Artist must be a CAL member and provide all their own supplies/equipment and clean up when finished.  Artist are expected to be working on their art in the gallery from 4:00 to 7:00 and may bring samples of their art for sale.  All sales will go through the CAL system with 20% going to CAL.
