Application for Instructor
CAL Instructors must be Active Regular Members of CAL in good standing. Please renew your membership if needed.
Instruction will be in the classroom/studio environment at the Conroe Art League (CAL). No classes are to be scheduled on a Friday or Saturday of a Judged Show weekend or during a workshop event.
CAL Responsibilities
• Provide advertising and promotion on the CAL website and on social media
accounts.
• Post the class schedule on the gallery calendar.
• Maintain a supply of class flyers in the hanging files in the gallery.
• Provide the instructor with a classroom area with tables and chairs for a maximum of 14 students, TV, document reader, and whiteboard.
Instructor Duties and Responsibilities
a. The instructor must have not less than _______ paying students per monthly class. If this requirement is not met over two consecutive months, the agreement may be re-evaluated.
b. Timely and completely collect all tuition from each student by the month’s end.
c. A donation of 20% of the full tuition collected will be paid to CAL no later than the fifteenth of the month that follows the month just ended. (For example, for tuition collected in (May), CAL’s donation will be paid no later than (June 15). A log of students will accompany the donation paid to CAL.
d. This donation will be paid by one of the following:
1. Personal Check that is placed in the Education folder in the conference room;
2. Square or PayPal, or
3. Sent via mail to the Treasurer (P. O. Box 3623, Conroe TX 77305.)
e. Ensure that all tables are covered with plastic, and no stains or dried paint are to be left on uncovered tables, chairs, or the floor.
f. Basic housekeeping functions will be performed as necessary to maintain.an orderly educational space to include placing all litter in the trash can(s) in the classroom and at the end of each class, emptying the trash can(s) into the larger containers in the kitchen downstairs.
g. Return all tables to the arrangement they were found in when the classroom was entered.
h. Return the thermostat to daytime or nighttime setting as appropriate.
i. If there is no docent at the end of the class then instructor is responsible for lights out upstairs, checking the upstairs restrooms, and locking both the upstairs and downstairs doors.
j. Open flames are not permitted, and safety measures are to be maintained. Either the instructor or CAL can end the agreement without cause with sixty (60) days’ notice to the other party.
If CAL’s monthly donation is not paid timely as noted above in items e. and d., CAL may end the agreement as it determines. If you have any questions, please contact caleducation@conroeartleague.com.
