Learn to stitch a personal journal with Deana Jones using the ancient method of Coptic binding.  This binding was introduced in the second century AD by the Copts who were early Christians in Egypt. This type of binding allows the book to lie completely open, and it showcases the spine and colorful threads, which are works of art in themselves.

Deana will teach you how to use basic bookbinding tools like the awl and bone folder. She will lead you through creating the covers and then joining the pages to the covers for a uniquely beautiful creation of your own that can serve as a journal, sketchbook, collage book, or notebook. It is the perfect gift for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, graduation, birthday ... or yourself!

This workshop is open to participants 15 years and older.  The $65 fee covers all supplies for a 9 x 6 journal, except the paper for the covers. Deana will provide registrants with details about where to shop for that item so that you can select the color and pattern that delights you.
